Registration for the Grand Slam opens February 15, 2024, at 10am

Fees – All players must be All Access Annual Pass holders @ $26.95 each and must be paid thru the app.

Team Entry fee for each Brampton/London event $475 + HST

Team Entry for each event must be sent thru the SPN Central Registration Portal

Team Entries must be received at SPN by 10:00pm Sunday of the week before the tournament.

All teams must be paid in full by the deadline or they will not be scheduled to play.

Please specify your team’s name, division, and the event date on all EMTs

All players must be active on the roster.

Permitted up to 20 players on the roster. 

Note: Provincial Championship roster guidelines will be in effect.

Use of an ineligible player will result in disqualification of the team and all points accumulated.

Any ejection will result in the offending player’s team losing points for that game.

GRAND SLAM GENERAL INFORMATION

GRAND SLAM SERIES TOURNAMENT RULES - Updated April 2, 2024 

All rules not referred to on this sheet are outlined in the 2024 SPN Rulebook

Each team will complete a lineup card prior to each game (to be provided at the diamond by the game umpire) – first and last names of each player must appear on the lineup card.

Home team will be decided by a coin toss on Saturday

No grace period, games to start on scheduled time. (No protest based on game start times will be accepted)

There is to be no practice or infield before games

The mercy rule of 12 runs after 5 innings and 20 runs after 4 innings will apply to all games including finals. In any inning where the mercy rule applies, a team is allowed to score enough runs to bring them inside the run spread. 

All games must be played weather permitting.

Scores are to be reported to the tournament convenor immediately after the game has finished. Failure to report the score may end with the teams being issued a 7-0 loss or double default game where neither team reports the score.

Player ejections 1 plus 1. Any player ejected from a game for any reason shall sit the next game – no exceptions. All ejected players must leave the park immediately without further incident. If the umpire deems the situation warrants review, then it will be brought to the UIC for further possible suspension. The tournament committee reserves the right to remove any
tournament participant for longer periods of time or remove any member from the event entirely.

Protective face gear is mandatory for all pitchers.

USSSA stamp must be visible on the bats. Slo-Pitch National may confiscate any bat that is suspected to be altered. 

Temporary runner may be used for the pitcher only when there are 2 outs. This does not count toward the total only if the pitcher is wearing gear other then the face mask. ie: shinpads.

Designated allowances for home run hits in fenced fields are as follows:

Match plus 2 for 4 max home runs for Mens D and Womens D

ZERO TOLERANCE on alcohol consumption in the dugout area. The player and coach will both be ejected from the game.

NO TAILGATING Any player, coach, or person directly affiliated with your team caught tailgating or drinking alcoholic beverages outside of the beer garden during the tournament will result in the disqualification of your team and full forfeiture of any prizes. No entry fees
will be refunded for any team disqualified for tailgating at the event. 

All teams must check-in before their first game and leave an emergency contact cell number for 2 people on your team in case your team needs to be contacted by the tournament committee at any time during the event.

All games to be 7 innings or Mercy - No Time Limit - Note: 4 innings will be considered a complete game

Please ensure you are playing the correct team before the game begins

All players must be able to present photo id when requested by a tournament official. All players must present their photo id immediately after the game, if the ID is not present at the time requested, failure to provide the ID immediately after the game shall result in that player being ruled as ineligible, and the team may be eliminated from the tournament.

If the home team is winning in the bottom of the 7th inning, they do not bat

Absolutely no contact at home plate, scoring line to be used in all games

1 umpire will be used in all games until the semis and finals

A protested game can result when there is a difference of opinion on the field, between the protesting team and an umpire regarding the application or interpretation of either Official Printed Playing Rules, or Specially Adopted Ground Rule or Specially Adopted Tournament Rules. Advise umpire of protest and game must stop. PROTESTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN WHICH UMPIRE’S JUDGEMENT IS QUESTIONED. A formal protest shall be written up and submitted to the tournament protest committee chairman, and it must be accompanied by a $150.00 protest fee (cash or e-transfer).

Team Rankings are not open to protest. All team rosters have been reviewed and accepted prior to each Grand Slam event. Players who fail to be truthful about highest levels played in any SPN or SPO on their tournament roster could be eliminated from the event and face further suspension. All winnings shall be subject to a review after the event where player rankings will be confirmed. Teams failing to provide host player rankings may be disqualified without compensation. Should a team be disqualified, no changes will be made to the tournament final standings. Prizes may be withheld from teams who fail to provide honest player ranking information.

All tournament participants shall conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner at all times. Any harassment towards a participating team, an umpire, tournament official or Slo-Pitch National volunteer will not be tolerated and may result in a team or individual being eliminated from the tournament.

Tournament organizers retain the right to revise the tournament schedule at any time for any reason to ensure the completion of play and determine tournament placement

GRAND SLAM RULES

Mens D – 1st Place $3,500, 2nd Place $2,000, 3rd Place $1,250.

Womens D – 1st Place $3,500, 2nd Place $2,000, 3rd Place $1,250.

Each Brampton/London event winner in each division (Mens D and Womens D) will receive up to 14 bats for players. Both divisions must have a min of 8 teams to qualify for bat prizing. Anything below 8 teams Cash prizing for tournament winner and merchandise will be awarded to the finalists. 

2nd place teams will receive SPN prizing.

Niagara Falls provincial dates will have provincial prizing and bats will not be awarded.

Tournament prizing shall be awarded to a maximum of 14 members for each team (including coaches). All members must be present to accept prizing. Failure to collect prizing at the event shall result in a forfeit of all prizes.

All teams must compete in 3 of 5 events to be eligible for the final prize money
