Don't miss this special Event, which is now an annual fall tradition in the Niagara area! Jessica Cook, daughter of Les and Rachelle Cook, was born August 10, 1994. Shortly after her birth, Jessica was diagnosed with a terminal mitochondria disorder called Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Deficiency (P.D.H.). P.D.H. is a rare cell disorder in which the body lacks the enzyme, called pyruvate, which is responsible for breaking down lactic acid. When broken down, lactic acid leaves the body as waste. However, if it cannot clear the body, it becomes a poison, which affects many bodily functions. There is no cure for P.D.H., and sadly, Jessica passed away on February 19, 2020. Funds raised in the past went towards a trust fund that allowed the family to, among many things, renovate a room at the home for Jessica, install an accessible ramp and purchase an accessible van, etc., and to Ronald McDonald House. This year, funds will be distributed to Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton. Entry Fee is just $300 and teams are guaranteed 4 games - and every team makes Sunday! Teams participating in the Tournament are asked, as part of their entry, for a donation of non-perishable food items to be donated to Birchway Niagara (formerly Women’s Place). There is a team competition each year for the most individual items brought in! A large raffle table, a barbeque and live entertainment make this a great way to spend a weekend with your team in the beautiful fall weather, and raise money to help support families of sick or seriously ill children!
